Over the counter acne treatments tend to have chemicals that some people choose to avoid. Instead, these people try home solutions or more natural acne treatments. Other people aren’t convinced that home remedies are strong enough to fight stubborn acne. These people search for more powerful acne medication. Here are some tips and information so you can decide what is right for you to become acne free.

At Home Acne Treatments

There are various home treatments that are effective. Here are some things you can try.

*Use essential oils at night, for example, Tea Tree Oil, Bergamot Oil, Clove Oil, Lavender Oil, and Rosewood Oil. Cleanse your face in the morning with pure soap and water.

*Acne begins beneath the surface of your skin. Therefore, it is vital to drink lots of water to detoxify your body and help clear your skin.

*You can exfoliate and clear pores with an oatmeal mask once or twice a week. Cook oatmeal and while it is still warm, apply to your face, allow oatmeal to dry and then wash away.

There are various at home remedies that work, and some which don’t. People, however, with more serious cases of acne, such as cystic acne, often opt for more powerful over the counter acne treatments.

Over the Counter Acne Treatments

Over the counter acne products can be very effective because they target the causes of acne. Certain products function by killing Prionibacterium acnes (P.acnes), the bacteria that creates inflammation. Other acne treatments renew skin by speeding up the growth of new skin cells and the removal of dead ones, as well as reducing sebum output. Some products work by doing a combination of these things.

Acne medication treatments function differently depending on their active ingredient. Here are some ingredients often found in acne products.

*Benzoyl Peroxide is very effective as it kills P. acnes as well as removes excess oil and dead skin cells that clog pores. Products contain different strengths shown by percentages that you can choose depending on the sensitivity of your skin.

*Salicylic Acid prevents pores from clogging by slowing the process of skin cell shed within hair follicles. It also helps fight whiteheads and blackheads.

*Alcohol and acetone come in astringents and cleansers. They remove dirt and oils.

These medications might be more powerful in treating acne but they often come with more side effects such as dryness, sensitivity to sun, stinging or irritation, redness or peeling.

Recently there have been many natural acne treatments developed that fight acne with great results while avoiding negative side effects. The top acne treatment is a powerful but organic acne cream which is a great compromise between home remedies and irritating over the counter treatments.

When it comes to acne treatments the most promising products are natural products that evade irritating side effects. Biocutis is offering a great natural acne treatment called Bioskinforte that reduces sebum output, lessens inflammation, unclogs pores, and moisturizes skin. It also serves as an acne scar treatment as it regenerates skin affected by redness and scars. Become acne free with a natural product that treats the root causes of acne, not just the symptoms.

Aging Skin and Organic Skin Care

by admin on April 6, 2012

Organic skin care sounds healthy, but isn’t quite what you may have expected. As a matter of fact, organic simply means that a product is free of artificial ingredients, petroleum-based ingredients or other unsafe ingredients.

Nevertheless, some ingredients that we may not consider natural or safe enough for our skin may still be considered within the guidelines of what is or isn’t natural for skin care products. For example, petroleum is considered a natural ingredient added to several natural skin care products, however, I can’t think of many people that would knowingly want to put it on their skin. Therefore, a good way of keeping your skin safe from these ingredients is by learning how to spot noxious ingredients in the product labels.

Ingredients to Avoid in Anti Aging Products

Organic skin care products and aging cream are supposed to help keep the skin young and healthy. However, certain ingredients in these products can actually speed up the aging process and lead to dull skin and wrinkles.

Warning: Petrochemicals

This group of ingredients is derived from crude oil. Petrochemicals coat your skin and make it impossible for your body to eliminate toxins. Because it is difficult to eliminate toxins your body may experience dull skin, allergies, and clogged pores.

Don’t use anti aging creams that contain mineral oil, paraffin and petrolatum. Especially if you have oily or combination skin.

Do Not Use Products Containing Quaternary Ammonium Compounds

Quats are used in conditioning products, but be careful because they have also been linked to antibiotic resistance. Avoid products that contain benzalkonium chloride, cetrimonium chloride and cetrimonium bromide, among others.

Caution: Synthetic Colors

Most synthetic colors are made from coal tar and heavy metal salts. They are known to lead to eye wrinkles and dull skin. This happens because they produce free radicals which are damaging to the skin’s structure. In order to avoid exposure, do not use products that contain FD&C or D&C.

Avoid Sulfates

Sulfates are usually found in soaps, detergents and cleansers. If the product you are about to buy contains sodium lauryl sulfate or sodium laureth sulfate, then it contains sulfates. Sulfates dry out the skin and cause rashes, and in some cases have been known to cause ocular problems.

Avoid Certain Alcohols

An anti wrinkle cream should never contain alcohol because it is known to dehydrate the skin and lead to wrinkles. Alcohol can also lead to irritation and rashes. However, stearyl and cetearyl alchol are both acceptable ingredients in any wrinkle treatment cream.

All you need to do is invest a little time and research to find the ingredients that you should avoid. In fact, it doesn’t feel like such an effort when you’re looking for the best wrinkle creams out there.

REJUVENATING CREAM is both a potent natural skin care and an excellent wrinkle night cream. Its unique combination of snail serum and strawberry seed oil makes it a potent ally against the aging process.
